Interlibrary Loan (ILL): Borrowing from Other
Libraries
The purpose of Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is to obtain books, journal articles,
and other materials for University of Hawaii at Manoa students, faculty, staff,
and affiliates when the materials are NOT available at the UH Manoa Libraries.

The primary purpose of
IntraSystem Loan is to borrow books and materials for UH Manoa students,
faculty, and staff from other UH System libraries when the materials are not
available at UH Manoa. ISL also lends UH Manoa materials to other UH campus
libraries for use by their students, faculty, and staff.

External Services Program (ESP)
The purpose of the External Services Program is to obtain materials for clients
who are not affiliated with the University of Hawaii. Services provided on a
cost-recovery basis include: document delivery, book loans, photographic/imaging
services, media duplication/reformatting services, preservation services, and
custom research. Some services are temporarily unavailable in 2008 due to staff
shortages.
